Rick Snyder, a venture capitalist from Ann Arbor, has opened an office and is exploring a possible run for the Republican nomination for governor in 2010. There has been much speculation that Snyder was the favored candidate of new Michigan GOP chairman Ron Weiser. He would add to an already crowded field in the Republican primaries, joining Attorney General Mike Cox, Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, Rep. Pete Hoekstra and state Sen. Tom George.
