While some leading Democrats say Granholm is not heading for the Supreme Court, that is not stopping leading GOP voices from sounding off about it.

The AP’s Kathy Barks Hoffman reports Sunday that Michigan GOP Party Co-Chair Sharon Wise is using the potential appointment as a fundraising moment for the party.

According to Hoffman’s report, Wise’s letter includes the following line:

“Your support can help stop Jennifer Granholm and her radical agenda from getting a lifetime appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court.”

MI-GOP Chair Ron Weiser is a little less aggressive. In an interview with Hoffman, Weiser declined to pass judgment on Granholm.

“I haven’t reviewed her qualifications to be a justice,” he said. “I do know that, on certain fundamental issues, that most Republicans disagree with her.”

Granholm was listed as one of the top contenders to replace outgoing Justice David Souter.
