Ok, but this is not as damaging as one might suppose. Without question, the republicans will attempt to filibuster ANY Obama nomination because of something their political machine has dug up somewhere. And they have been busy trying to dig up details of Any problems. However, this might be a moot question, given the Governor's past statements. On the other hand, who would say not if your President called you? And as far as the 2003 Inaugural committee stuff is concerned, that is not a "personal" income problem. It is a typical "political" problem. How many Senators, Orrin Hatch included, have had problems associated with their campaign committees for lack of funds? This is something that the republicans will not want to touch. Their closets are full of similar problems.

I do think that if this is all the republicans have got on Governor Granholm then she looks a far better nominee than Clarence Thomas
