Detroit has a new mayor in David Bing, but due to time constraints there probably won’t be a new budget. Bing will be forced to work with the budget former interim mayor Kenneth Cockrel Jr. presented because he will have only have three weeks to review that budget before it’s due.

“I’m probably going to have to live with that budget,” Bing said in the final debate before the special election. But he said he was confident that even if he found the budget flawed he has the business skills to make cuts necessary to keep the city from creating a deeper deficit.
