Still at it: The Daily Show versus Cramer and CNBC, now with backup posse at NBC and MSNBC

By LoRayne Apo-Joynt | 03.10.09 | 11:00 pm

After Comedy Central’s The Daily Show took CNBC’s Jim Cramer, Rick Santelli and the rest of the financial news network to the comedic woodshed last week, CNBC and Cramer tried their hands at rebuttals. Apparently CNBC’s management and that of its parent, General Electric-owned NBC, were not savvy enough to realize that this is merely red meat to the creative minds of The Daily Show.

And of course, the team at TDS bit hard…

But does it stop with Monday night’s program, after Jon Stewart administers yet another reasoned and balanced critique, complete with an apology?

Oh no. Cramer continues Tuesday morning on NBC’s Today Show, and again on NBC’s morning cable program, Morning Joe with former congressman Joe Scarborough. It’s not pretty; see for yourself:

Phew. We’ll be watching to see if TDS has a return volley to lob; their editorial team certainly has enough material to work with to create more comedy gold, and if Cramer, CNBC and NBC don’t catch on, there will be plenty more for weeks to come.

Just wait until TDS figures out that one of CNBC’s newer anchors, Rebecca Jarvis, is a former contestant on NBC’s The Apprentice, fired by Donald Trump during the fourth season.
