Michigan was battered by several waves of stormy weather this weekend, beginning with a blast Friday evening and a couple more blasts last night, resulting in substantial damage and several deaths.
The state’s western lower peninsula was deluged and is still under flood watches and warnings. The Grand Rapids Press lost two delivery people who drowned on Sunday morning when their delivery vehicle was swamped on a washed-out and flooded road. The eastern lower peninsula experienced widespread wind damage, with power outages affecting tens of thousands.
The storms also impacted our ability to post new content here at Michigan Messenger; at least two of our team members were without power in the wee hours of the morning today, and we’re still waiting for other team members to check in.
Stay tuned as we power back up at Michigan Messenger!
