Hoekstra extols virtue of stimulus package in less than 140 words

By LoRayne Apo-Joynt | 02.23.09 | 9:28 am

Yes, somebody let Rep. Pete Hoekstra (MI-02) near the internet super highway again, where he stumbled upon the Twitter on-ramp to tweet the benefit of the stimulus package:

If you know of someone thinking of buying first home, now may be the time.Stimulus incentive is very generous!Up to 8k!Check it out. from TwitterBerry

Ironic, since Hoekstra voted against the stimulus package along with the rest of his Republican counterparts in Congress.

Additionally ironic since the tweet was preceded by a conservative talking point about the inadequate time allowed to read the bill prior to its passage. Maybe there’s more twittery goodness in the stimulus package which didn’t require a bipartisan effort by Hoekstra to reach out and read the bill until after the fact?
