January auto sales plummet

The already bleak sales data for the Big Three automakers got significantly worse in January as all three American companies report enormous drops in sales compared to last year. Chrysler sales dropped 55% in January, while GM fell 49% and Ford fell 42%. The sales figures are now at their lowest level in 26 years, when the U.S. was in the midst of a major recession.
