I am writing today to announce the closure of the Michigan Messenger. After four years of operation in Michigan, the board of the American Independent News Network, has decided to shift publication of its news into a single site, The American Independent at Americanindependent.com. This is part of a shift in strategy, towards new forms [...]
An abstinence-only presentation provided to numerous school districts in Calhoun and Eaton Counties in October of this year provided false and misleading information to students about HIV, experts allege.
Two county registers of deeds filed a class action lawsuit Monday on behalf of Michigan’s 83 counties alleging that the Mortgage Electronic Registration Services owes millions of dollars in property title transfer taxes.
Despite evidence of the impact of mercury on children and public health, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette last month joined with 24 other state attorneys general in filing a lawsuit to scuttle new EPA regulations that would reduce mercury emissions from power plants.
Former GOP Vice Presidential candidate, and Republican Gov. of Alaska, Sarah Palin came out swinging. In a video interview with the conservative documentary film maker John Zeigler, Palin lambasted bloggers and the media. At one point she dismissed the controversy over her inability to tell CBS Nightly News Anchor Katie Couric what she read, by stating, “Because Katie you are not the center of everybody’s universe.”
Zeigler has created the website HowObamaGotElected.com in which he argues Obama won by blinding the electorate, and the interview with Palin was conducted for an upcoming documentary called Media Malpractice.
“When did we start accepting as hard news sources bloggers, anonymous bloggers especially. It’s a sad state of affairs in the world of the media today, mainstream media especially; if they are going to rely on anonymous bloggers for their hard news information. Very scary. What is the double standard here? Why people would choose to believe lies, and reporters especially, not just taking one extra step to get to the facts and report the facts but instead continue to spread things that are not true. So I have the same question perhaps you do and others who would participate in this documentary. Is it political or sexism? What is it that drives someone to believe the worst and perpetuate the worst in terms of gossip and lies?”
You can view video of this interview posted on Jan. 7 below.
The different between this interview and Katie's is that Katie was a real interview; that is, she asked Sara questions that Americans needed to know regarding a potential VP. This so-called interview was more of a PR campaign, if anything. If seemed so well-prepared, so that she didn't come across as not being able to think on her feet as she did in her interview w/ Katie. Sadly, she is hollering sexism due to her lack of compentency. She is a legend in her own mind if she believes she would have been an asset to the Obama adminstration. She may run in 2012, but she w/ never make it into the white house.

Is this really what Sarah Palin needs? A 'documentary' blog that would let me rewrite my embarassing public failures on film and worry about how other people's jokes “made me feel”. . .whatever happened to the Wonder Woman stories of this powerful force in Republican politics that all the liberals were so afraid of?
I'll look for her appearance on Dr. Phil next. :^)
